A Vintage Christmas Decor

I have been working in just about every area of holiday decor, inside, outside all around the house.

The tree is done, narrow because of the area it must fill, lots of memories on this tree from my children and students through the years.

The mantle in the family room is filled with vintage and faux decor.

The mirror is vintage and the candles are celluloid (from the 1930's) lit from underneath.

The sconces are from the 1920's, a hotel in Chicago, and the candle holders are amber glass with etching from the 1930's.

I made the stockings many years ago for the whole family, even the dog.  I have since given my children their stockings to use in their home.

Ralph Lauren fabric with applique from several years ago.  I wrap them carefully and bring them out every holiday.

A small tree by the fireplace

A basket on the other side of the fireplace with faux greenery and ornaments

It looks so pretty! I love the Christmas tree and stockings! I'm just putting away the fall decor and can't wait to decorate for Christmas.

Oh so fabulous. You've put me in the Christmas mood now, but unfortunately we won't be home for Chrismas. It all seems a little pointless decorating the place when we won't be here to enjoy it. I'll enjoy yours instead. Loved all the vintage lights and candelholders.

Eileen girl this is so BEAUTIFUL !!! I love it all and especially the narrow tree, because so many of us have no room for that traditional "monster" sized one ... and no real tree (I miss the smell but I know we can bring some boughs indoors for that.
You have inspired me girl ! especially that this might be our last one with son and his wife for a long time .. so I have to get busy and do the deed (maybe some Xmas music might spur me as well ?
Totally gorgeous Eileen !!! : )

Eileen
It all looks beautiful. I just love decorated mantles. The 1930's candles give such a warm glow.

Eileen, Your mantel is stunning! I love the color there. I like both of your trees, even though they are very different. You have a gift for decor, both inside and out!

Your mantle looks so lovely Eileen with the vintage pieces. I got the outdoors decorations up but have not touched the indoors ones yet. Maybe tomorrow. We had such great weather the last two days that I wanted to play outside anyway. LOL!

Thanks Catherine,

I was in the midst of two holidays with pumpkins and gourds still out while putting up the Christmas tree.

Hi Bernie,

I feel the same way, if I am not going to be around or hosting it is difficult to put all of that effort into decorating.

Hi Joy,

We had to get rid of our very large tree when we moved to this house. I had many more ornaments than I needed for this narrow tree.

Hi Zoey,

I bought the vintage candleabra at a small local antique shop, was surprised when the candles lit up.

Thanks Beth,

I too like the look of a decorated mantle, looks warm and inviting with the lights.

Hi Lona,

We have had such horrible weather the last two days that I am glad I did the outside last week. Next, the snow will cover everything up!

Vintage wonderful, Eileen. You are so ahead of me! I wait a bit ... worrying how to dust around all until Christmas :) Perhaps I should not care and just ...like you ... do it!
