True Or False

This is the time of year that I visit my local Pottery Barn to get an early fix on spring.

I know these are false because they wouldn't have real bunnies on a dining table.

I order real Oregon moss every year for my outside baskets.  This looks very good but again it is false.

I guess I had better say early on that everything plantwise that you see in Pottery Barn is false but each year gets better at fooling the eye.

Snowball Viburnum

The pottery has a washed look with stenciling.

Bright southwestern looking pottery

Crystals are big this year with floral displays and tablescaping.

Basket weave lanterns

Decorative bottles

More decorative bottles!

Mercury glass is plentiful again and more reasonably priced, goes with every decor.  Antique mercury glass was very popular during the 1800's with silver being blown in through a double layer of glass.  These are reproductions with the silver being applied onto the glass.

I have a Mercury Glass vase on my coffee table and it blends beautifully with my old and new furnishings.  Lots of reflections in this photo from the sun pouring into my family room.

These are false but it won't be long before we can say it is true, our garden tulips are the real thing!

It is funny how things come back around after a few years. I remember with burlap was a big decor item and now it is coming back just like the mercury glass. I have loved this tour of decor items. Everything looks so spring like. The bunnies and blooms. I love the pottery and urns to Eileen. We do not have any of those stores nearby so now I know what they are offering. LOL!Have a lovely week and soon the real tulips will be blooming.

I love Pottery Barn. Their ability to create atmosphere is really special. Thanks for taking us on the tour. I'll have to go in before Easter!

I wish I had a Pottern Barn in my town. I sometimes go to their website for inspiration.

That crystal tree is nice. Maybe I will add crystals to my real tree branch egg tree this year.

No Pottery Barn in my corner of the world either. It looks like I'm missing out. There are just so many beautiful things, but I did like the mercury glass and those stencilled pots.

Hi Lona,

Pottery Barn has everything and more online that they have in the store. However, it is nice to be able to see them in person.

Hi Sherry,

I really do not have the room to store any more decor so I have to restrain myself and just take the photos.

Zoey,

I think a real branch would look even better with the crystals.

Hi Bernie,

I am surprised that Pottery Barn has not gone to Austrailia. They seem to be everywhere! They do ship to seventy-five countries including Austrailia.

I don't understand why we can't have a Pottery Barn in Canada .. I am going to have to get to our Home Sense to see if there are some Spring things out yet .. I hope so because I am GREEN with envy seeing these pictures ! LOL

Hi Joy,

They do ship online to 75 countries even Austrailia! So, check and see if they ship to Canada. What is nice is that you can bring out a little each year and it lasts and lasts.

Just went outside and can see the hyacinths coming up.

Hi Eileen, I am a big Pottery Barn fan too, as you know. Just yesterday, I was looking through their spring catalogue online. There is a new butterfly pillow that I just loved and I also admired many of the decorative accessories that you show here.

Hi Jennifer,

I restrained myself this time and only bought some faux eggs and moss, running out of room to store all of these things.

Love your post. It is spring in texas. The twigs that are coming out of the vase with the pinkish coral flowers...what are they? I see them blooming on the bushes here now along with the forsythia. A sure sign of spring. Did I mention the mockingbirds and cardinals singing?

Hi Jenny,

They weren't labeled but they might be appleblossoms or cherry.

Yes, spring is near, Eileen ... a joyful post in reminding! I do incorporate into my life too ... in fact, (until mine are ready to force) Pottery Barn forsythia are in a cobalt vase in kitchen window.
