I brought the dracena in from the patio this fall because I love the magenta stripes in the leaves. So far it seems to be thriving.
I can't count how many indoor plants I have lost from too little or too much water or maybe too much or too little fertilizer.
The Ziva Paperwhites are pretty foolproof and never disappoint.
I am never going to plant the amaryllis again in the water and colored beads, potting soil it is from now on. The water developed a major odor and I had to dismantle everything and wash the beads and the glass container, don't remember this being a problem last year.
Candy Floss Amaryllis is ready to open after changing the water.

My little birds are already nestled between the faux greens on the dining room table.
Vintage mirror adorned in the corner
Cyclamen still alive and flourishing
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
You're doing very well this season. They're all beautiful and the little bird is adorable. Merry Christmas. xo Jenny
ReplyDeleteYour amaryllis blooms are so pretty. I love the cyclamen in bloom though. It is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours.
Did you make the arrangement on your mirror as it is beautiful. I don't like growing plants in those beads either - my beads usually turn green and a green scum appears on the glass. Your cyclamen looks so healthy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny,
ReplyDeleteI am finding out that I really like birds inside my home, although I am not an expert on the outside birds.
Eileen
Lona,
ReplyDeleteThe amaryllis are weird this year, one short, one tall of the same variety. I like this mini cyclamen, seems to hold up better than the large ones.
Eileen
Hi Rosie,
ReplyDeleteI made part of the arrangement on the mirror. The bottom part is a candle ring I purchased many years ago and I just strung the ribbon through it to become a hanging.

Hello Eileen .. yes ! jenny has been to my blog and I just left her an address to see speculaas molds made in the States (I stumbled on it ).. Yes it was an amazing 4 years we spent in the Netherlands .. I worked at the NATO library there, husband in communications on loan from our military. Son went to international school but more American than not .. had to have American history to graduate high school program .. now how funny is that ? I knew all the flea markets during that time and loved it all ... I actually have many more boards on the entrance way .. this is just one wall ! LOL
ReplyDeleteHey I am not a houseplant person myself .. love your amaryllis girl ! Merry Ho Ho !
Joy
They are beautiful, Eileen! How nice to have blooms at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy best wishes to you and your family this happy holiday season and throughout the new year.
Beth
All your indoor plants are looking pretty happy and healthy, and the Christmas decorations are lovely. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI think your indoor plants are looking great. I have changed the water on my paperwhite twice now. The water was an amber color, but no odor.
ReplyDeleteCute bird in the evergreens!
Bless you Eileen! Your outdoors always perfection and your indoors are beautiful too! One thing, as creators, we are always learning for others with the mistakes we sometimes make. . . .thanks for sharing the negative!
ReplyDeleteI must go and get some cyclamen. They just seem to last forever!
Merry Christmas.
Hi Eileen, Your house looks well prepared for the holidays. I don't think I will attempt to grow bulbs in glass beads and water after your experience. The paperwhites and the amaryllis all look great though. I planted mine way to late and will now have to wait to enjoy their flowers early in the new year.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your friendship and my visits to your garden in this past year. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday! All the best in the new year! I'll be back to visit in January.
I remember the twigs in with your Amaryllis last year, I love how they look. I only planted one this year and it has awhile to go before it blooms.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Hi Joy,
ReplyDeleteI am loving seeing all of the boards from the Netherlands.
Eileen
