Bringing Spring Home

I just decided the other day that I wasn't going to wait this year until the third week in March to begin thinking spring!  I am doing the meteorological spring which begins March 1st. As I have said before faux and real together make a wonderful combination.

Pottery Barn has always been a favorite for specific accessories but their store this season resembles a conservatory.  I do not have a Pottery Barn home but I have to admit they have made their faux greenery and seasonal decor irresistible!  http://www.potterybarn.com/

As I strolled through their store I had a difficult time dealing with reality, smelling plants, touching plants circling displays like a stalker in search of a genuine spring.

Chartreuse Tulips

Forget Me Nots

Daffodils

Ranunculus

Hyacinths

Snowdrops

A Terrarium With Rocks And Faux Moss

Faux Clematis

Basil and Rosemary

Faux Basil
I could almost imagine myself cooking with this!

Life-Like Fruits

I have the pears, but I actually had to pick up the lemons and feel them to convince myself they weren't real.

Faux Birds And Faux Pears
My birds go through every season and bring good luck to a home.

I couldn't believe the displays this year, branches laden with blossoms, mossed pots even speckled birds eggs.

Mossed Pots

Magnolia

Pear

Apple Blossom

There are many other branches, yellow, bright pink and just plain green.

I brought a little bit of spring home, too expensive to have a full blown spring

It is amazing what a little "out of season" experience will do for one gardener's psyche!

  1. Dear Eileen, What a cornucopia of delights. I am not surprised that you were entranced by the variety and quality of things for sale. However, I am sure that you were only in need of bringing a taste of spring home since your garden will be bursting with the beauty of springtime before too long!!

  5. Eileen girl these are wonderful pictures and they do look so realistic! They would be perfect for my home because we all have allergies from the scent of bulb flowers .. I am going to have a peak around the stores to see what I can bring home to brighten up the kitchen .. the heart of the home and my temp office ;-)
I would love to see an actual Pottery Barn store too ! LOL

  7. Hi Edith,

It seems to have been a more frustrating winter than normal. I do see some daffodils popping up on the south side of my home.

  12. Hi Joy,

You can go online for Pottery Barn, but I don't know what they would do to you with shipping.

I never saw much I wanted in this store a few years ago. Now, I find lots of things I like.

  14. Hi Eileen, I am a Pottery Barn fan and do agree that they have nice faux flowers. I also find that they have many other garden themed accessories that are really nice. I think it might be time for a visit to the Pottery Barn store, if only to take in a little of that "faux spring".

  16. Hi Jennifer,

I didn't realize they were in Canada, but I looked it up and they are right in Ontario.

  17. I have to say that basil looks a whole lot better than the plant I tried to overwinter!

There is no pottery barn anywhere near me. I think the closest is a 3-hour drive, so I am not very familiar with their products. I have only been in one once. I found my zebra dishes there.

  18. That place is a floral art wonder! I love the tree blossoms the best outof them all. Many look so realistic.

You and me have both commenting on MrBrownThumbs garden scrappers posts - well a blog has been scrapping many blotanical gardener posts - would you mind checking out my post incase there is anyone there that you recognise as the more people who complain to blogger the more chance there is of this blog being taken off the net. Thanks

  20. Thanks for the uplifting post! SPRING is always too far off when you live in snow country and way too many miles from a Pottery Barn, Holly Hobby, Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, etc, etc. Omg... how did I end up here!!!

  21. I know it must sound like I live under a rock (and I sort of do) but I've never been to a Pottery Barn store. Guess I should try and find one now. ;-)
Everything looks so real but those pears - I really can't believe. Great springy post - it's almost here!!!

That's when you go internet shopping. It is not as much fun but it is great to have that option.

  29. Hello:

It seems like I have been gone so much longer than I really was. Pottery Barn has come a long way and you did a wonderful job showing off their Spring offerings....can't wait to see what they have done.

Great post Eileen. Needless to say, all is in bloom in Naples, Coral Beach and Boca! I can just feel my garden floor rumbling!!!
