I am not sure it will do any good, but obviously their new introduction was not tested or proven.

EileenGatsbys Gardenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04228978705943696143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2243579953985871041.post-62550150777159794632010-06-03T18:53:41.880-05:002010-06-03T18:53:41.880-05:00It's so refreshing to hear that I'm not th...It's so refreshing to hear that I'm not the only one who has been tempted by a fancy new plant introduction, only to end up disappointed! Several years ago I paid top dollar for a new saucer magnolia introduction from Wayside Gardens, "Yellow Bird," and I tended it for two years before it finally bloomed. And, get this: the blooms were not yellow, but plain old pink like every other stinking saucer mag in town that I could have bought for half the price. Hopefully since you're a nursery owner (rather than a mere lone gardener like myself) Proven Winners will take your complaints more seriously than Wayside Gardens did mine.Rebecca Gracehttp://www.CheekyCognoscenti.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2243579953985871041.post-54547557545785468782010-06-02T18:40:52.764-05:002010-06-02T18:40:52.764-05:00Allan, I think your judgement is correct. There is something wrong with this new supertunia.

EileenGatsbys Gardenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04228978705943696143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2243579953985871041.post-30677095494679735142010-06-02T18:38:39.471-05:002010-06-02T18:38:39.471-05:00Joey, they are beautiful but defective. I will wait until the end of the season to make a final judgement.

EileenGatsbys Gardenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04228978705943696143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2243579953985871041.post-83321229561096993022010-06-02T17:48:15.866-05:002010-06-02T17:48:15.866-05:00A lot of us eager gardeners are prone to forgettin...A lot of us eager gardeners are prone to forgetting that new introductions are not created by nature but by humans, working in a lab. Such plants are never as reliable or as hardy as the mother plant from which they were cloned.

I would get onto Proven Winners back and relentlessly remind them how disappointed you are. If they are staking their reputation on a new introduction, they should have done their due diligence before bringing it to market.allanbecker-gardenguruhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249183285802762125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2243579953985871041.post-36787639297542564662010-06-02T16:06:05.087-05:002010-06-02T16:06:05.087-05:00If these are your planters, they look pretty stunn...If these are your planters, they look pretty stunning to me and might be on my wish/must have list next time at the nursery!joeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09569378877717221045noreply@blogger.com
